  • 1 lb ground sausage halal chicken or beef sausage works well
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese sharp cheddar recommended
  • 1 ½ cups self-rising flour or homemade blend (1 cup all-purpose flour + 1 ½ tsp baking powder + ½ tsp salt)
  • 2 tbsp milk optional, for extra moisture

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, shredded cheese, and self-rising flour. Add optional spices for extra flavor.
  • If the mixture feels dry, add milk one tablespoon at a time until it holds together.
  • Roll the mixture into small balls (about 1–1.5 inches in diameter) and place them evenly spaced on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Let the sausage balls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with honey mustard, marinara, or your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper. To store, refrigerate cooked sausage balls for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
