Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp Earl Grey tea leaves finely ground
  • ¼ tsp salt

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 tsp lemon zest optional, for extra citrus flavor
  • ½ cup dark chocolate optional, for dipping

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and ground Earl Grey tea leaves, mixing until well incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Shape the dough into a log or flatten it into a disc, wrap it in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼-inch thickness and cut into desired shapes using a cookie cutter.
  • Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • For an extra touch, dip the cooled cookies in melted dark chocolate and let them set before serving.

Notes

For a stronger tea flavor, steep the Earl Grey leaves in melted butter before mixing. These cookies store well in an airtight container for up to a week.
