Ingredients
  

French Toast Rolls

  • 4 slices of bread Brioche or Texas Toast works best
  • 4 slices of cheese Mozzarella, Cheddar, or Cream Cheese
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp butter for frying
  • ½ tsp cinnamon optional, for a hint of warmth
  • 1 tbsp sugar for a sweet version

For Serving

  • honey or maple syrup

Instructions
 

  • Use a rolling pin to gently flatten each slice of bread, making them easier to roll without breaking.
  • Place a slice of cheese on one end of the bread. If using cream cheese, spread a thin layer evenly.
  • Tightly roll each slice into a log and press the seam to seal.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and cinnamon (if using).
  • Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  • Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Cook the roll-ups for about 2 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
  • For a sweet version, roll them in sugar while they’re still warm. For a savory touch, sprinkle with black pepper or herbs.
  • Drizzle with honey or maple syrup and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra twist, try stuffing with flavored cream cheese, adding cooked turkey for a protein boost, or stuffing with fruit for a sweet treat!
