Instructions
Use a rolling pin to gently flatten each slice of bread, making them easier to roll without breaking.
Place a slice of cheese on one end of the bread. If using cream cheese, spread a thin layer evenly.
Tightly roll each slice into a log and press the seam to seal.
In a bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and cinnamon (if using).
Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Cook the roll-ups for about 2 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
For a sweet version, roll them in sugar while they’re still warm. For a savory touch, sprinkle with black pepper or herbs.
