Instructions
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk (or heavy cream), ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract to create the custard mixture.
Slice the French rolls or cinnamon rolls in half. Lightly toast them if they are very soft to help absorb the custard better.
Quickly dip each roll slice into the custard mixture, making sure it is fully coated but not overly soaked.
Heat a nonstick pan or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
Place the soaked roll slices in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.
Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with maple syrup or cream cheese glaze, and serve immediately!
Notes
For an extra crispy finish, sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the toast while still warm!
