Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or a splash of almond extract. If you prefer chewier cookies, let the dough chill in the fridge for 30 minutes before baking.
