Ingredients
  

Casserole Base

  • 1 lb ground beef or shredded chicken for variation
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup salsa mild or spicy, based on preference
  • 1 can black beans 15 oz, drained and rinsed
  • 1 bag tortilla chips or Doritos use a sturdy variety to hold up to the layers
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack

Toppings

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives optional
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • 1 jalapeño sliced, for extra heat

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease and mix in taco seasoning and salsa. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Spread a layer of tortilla chips at the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Add half of the seasoned beef mixture, black beans, and shredded cheese.
  • Repeat with another layer of chips, beef mixture, and cheese.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and add toppings like sour cream, diced tomatoes, olives, green onions, and jalapeños.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, drizzle with hot sauce or serve with guacamole on the side!
