use a sturdy variety to hold up to the layers

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease and mix in taco seasoning and salsa. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Spread a layer of tortilla chips at the bottom of the baking dish.
Add half of the seasoned beef mixture, black beans, and shredded cheese.
Repeat with another layer of chips, beef mixture, and cheese.
Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and add toppings like sour cream, diced tomatoes, olives, green onions, and jalapeños.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For extra flavor, drizzle with hot sauce or serve with guacamole on the side!
