Ingredients
  

Bacon Twists

  • 1 lb thick-cut bacon for best texture
  • ¼ cup brown sugar light or dark, depending on preference
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper optional, for a little heat
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika for added depth of flavor

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Twist each strip of bacon tightly and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cayenne pepper, and smoked paprika.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture evenly over the twisted bacon, coating each piece well.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then carefully flip each twist using tongs.
  • Bake for another 10–20 minutes until crispy and caramelized. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  • Let the bacon twists cool for a few minutes before serving. They will crisp up even more as they cool.

Notes

For extra flavor, try brushing with maple syrup before baking or adding a sprinkle of black pepper.
