  • 1.5 cups beef broth or vegetable broth for a lighter version
  • 2 cans kidney beans 15 oz each, drained and rinsed

  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper adjust to heat preference
  • salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder or 1 small square of dark chocolate
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar adds a bright finish
